The story of how muffler manufacturing in Ludhiana grew into one of India's trusted knitwear names — across three generations.
Where it all began
In 1969, Mr. Phool Chand Jain started Active Knitwears by manufacturing mufflers in Ludhiana, Punjab. His belief was simple: produce knitwear of uncompromising quality, and the orders will follow. They did.
Over the next two decades, the workshop grew from mufflers and baby tops into a full-range knitwear manufacturing unit. Export orders to Russia in the 1980s validated the quality on an international stage. By 1992, a complete gents and ladies woolen range was established.
Today, Active Knitwears spans 90+ machines, a pan-India client base, and long-standing supply connections with landmark brands including Monte Carlo and Duke. What has not changed is the founding principle: craft first, commerce second.

In 2020, the third generation stepped into the business — bringing digital thinking, design sensibility, and a sharp eye for quality to a half-century-old operation.
New machinery was added. The product range expanded. Relationships with brands like Monte Carlo (2021) and Duke (2023) were forged. But the production values — the obsession with yarn, gauge, linkage, and finish — remained exactly as Mr. Jain had set them in 1969.
